Chiropractic

Chiropractic Manipulation is used to restore mobility to joints restricted by tissue injury caused by a traumatic event, such as falling, or repetitive stress, such as sitting without proper back support. Chiropractic is often used as a pain relief alternative for muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissue, such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. Many people utilize chiropractic care as maintenance towards a properly functioning spine and nervous system. At Pain West, we often use Chiropractic in conjunction with conventional medical treatment. If you have any questions about Chiropractic care, please call our office in Papillion, Nebraska at 402-505-7989, or schedule an appointment online for an assessment.

What should I Expect?

A Chiropractor first takes a medical history, performs a physical examination, and may use lab tests or diagnostic imaging to determine if treatment is appropriate for your back pain. The chiropractic treatment plan may involve one or more manual adjustments in which the doctor manipulates the joints, using a controlled, sudden force to improve range and quality of motion. Many chiropractors also incorporate nutritional counseling and exercise/rehabilitation into the treatment plan. The goals of chiropractic care include the restoration of function and prevention of injury in addition to back pain relief.

v

Is chiropractic Safe?

Chiropractic treatments are among some of the safest treatments used in the health care field. Millions of adjustments are provided each day in the US while recording an extremely low number of adverse effects. Much safer than many of the other treatment alternatives.

v

Can chiropractic help me?

Some people think chiropractors only treat back pain, but actually, they are specialists in the entire musculoskeletal system. They do focus primarily on the spine and surrounding tissues, but the spine is intimately related to the proper functioning of the whole body.
